Unit 6   I’m more outgoing than my sister.
            Section A the first period
1. Teaching aims: 
Talk about personal traits and compare people
 2. Key points:
     1). Words: taller, shorter, thinner, longer, heavier, calmer, wilder, quieter, funnier, smarter, more athletic, more popular, more serious. more outgoing.
2). Drills:
         Is that Sam? No, that’s Tom.
He has shorter hair than Sam.
            He’s calmer than Sam.
3. Difficult points:
Is that Sam? No, that’s Tom.
He has shorter hair than Sam.
            He’s calmer than Sam.
4. Teaching steps:
Step 1: Let Ss revise adjective words
tall, short, thin, long, heavy, calm, wild, quiet, funny, smart, popular. (用身边的学生或者老师抑或物品来引导学生回忆并复习这些学过的形容词,为后边的应用形容词做铺垫)
 
Step 2: Let Ss learn new wordsoutgoing, popular , seriouscalm, wild。(用水浒里的李逵和宋江这两个性格明显的人教出calm, wild这两个单词,再以班里的学生引出outgoing, popular , serious,这三个新词。)
Step 3 Ask two students to stand in the front of classroom the other students tell the differences between them.
(挑出学生中一个高个的和一个低个的进行语法教学)
        Yu ze is tall.
        Yang biao is taller.
Yang biao is taller than Yu ze .
(挑出学生中一个外向的和一个内向的进行语法教学)
         Nie Senjie is more outgoing than Gao Jiaxin.
Gao Jiaxin is more quite than Nie Senjie.
(挑出学生中一个强健的和一个体质弱的进行语法教学)
Shi Yi is more athletic than Wu Bin.
Wu Bin is weaker than Shi Yi.
Step 4
Show the pictures of 1a ask students to tell what they
see.
       T: What can you see in the picture?
S: Two boys.
T: That’s right . This is Pedro and this is Paul. They’re brothers.
Who is taller, Pedro or Paul ?
S: Pedro.
       T: That’s right. Pedro is taller. (show the sentence and class repeat)
S: Pedro is taller.
T: Pedro is heavier than Paul . Paul is thinner than Pedro.
(show the sentences and class repeat)
S: Pedro is heavier than Paul . Paul is thinner than Pedro.
(In the same way , teach the sentences of the other two pictures.)
Tina is wilder than Tara.
 Tara is calmer than Tina.
 Sam is wilder than Tom.
 Sam has longer hair than Tom.
 Tom is calmer than Sam . Tom has short hair than Sam.
Step 5Listening 1b. Practice 1c by using the picture.
Step6:  Listen and writecultivate the autonomous learning
1. Point out the two columns and read the headings: -er, -ier and more
   2. Tell the students what to do in this activity. Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.
   3. Ask them to listen carefully and write the –er and –ier words from the box on the left in the first column and the words that use more in the second column.
 4. Play the recording the second time .
 5. Check the answers.
Step 7: Pairwork by using 2a.
      应用听力稿内容练习一般疑问句和否定句。
Homework:
   Write 10 sentences about what we learned today.

   A +be+比较级+than+B
Nie Senjie is more outgoing than Gao Jiaxin.
Gao Jiaxin is more quite than Nie Senjie.
Shi Yi is more athletic than Wu Bin.
Wu Bin is weaker than Shi Yi.
教后记:
1.    完整的并与学生实际生活相联系的将语法知识形象的给学生进行渗透与练习。
2.    听力前能够先指导,以避免学生浪费精力在无需的知识点上。
3.    能够挖掘教材,利用听力稿进行深层次的练习。一般疑问句和否定句。
4.    缺点:
还是教师讲的太多,学生思考的太少。有点不相信学生,放不开手脚。
真正的课是让学生动起来,不仅是身体,关键是脑子。
