Greeting the students
 T: Class begin
 M: Stand up! Students stand up.
T: Good morning boys and girls!
S: Good morning teacher.
T: Today we will learn starter3---What color is it?
Begin the class with singing the song of “letters song” together. Free talk.  Ask  : Hi! Good morning, Tom. Or  Morning, Dale.
 Let the students get used to speaking English in classeven after class, Encourage the students to speak English as much as possibleSay out all the letters in English while you are pointing the letters or things in the classroomMake sure all the students know what you are saying and what it is in English.
 Speech Cassette la of section BPlay the tape and ask the students to listen to it carefully, then act it out, also do the task of lb on the bookNext get the students to write down the small letters for each word (abbr.)
Step 1
T :draw some pictures :
Pen ruler quilt apple cup jacket map
Then lead then to review them.
Whats this in English ?
It a ruler.
Then lead them to read the sentences.
Step 2
Pair work
Get the students to practice the dialogue by using the pictures.
Step 3
   Let them to review the sentences.
   What color is it?
   It ’s red .
   Then ask students to practice in pairs.
Step 4
 Listen 3a
Ask students to listen to the tape ,then color the things.
T :check the answers.
     Listen 3b
Listen and complete the sentences.
Listen 3c
Listen and complete the chant.
  Step 5
Conversation
   T: good morning Jim!
   S: Good morning t!
   T: How are you?
S: I’m fine,thank you. How are you?
T: I’m OK. what’s this in English?
S: It’s a ruler.
T:Spell it please.
S:R-U-L-E-R.
Step5:

Teaching Aims:
1.      New words: babysit, babysitting, camp, plan
2.      Useful expressions:
spending time with friends, relaxing at home, That sounds nice.
What are you doing for vacation? I’m going to my cousin’s house.
What’s she doing for vacation? She’s going camping.
When are you going? Who are you going with?
3.      Love our nature and motherland.
Key points: Aims 2, 3.
Teaching Methods: Task-based, listening, saying and practice.
Teaching Steps:
 
Step 1-Load-in
1.      Show the picture National Day. (国庆节即将来到,学生们肯定有不同的假期计划,以此作为本课的导入和切入点,学生积极性高。)
2.      Talk about it with Ss:
“National Day is coming. We’ll have an 8-day vacation. I think you are very happy, because you can do many things that you like. So, today we’ll learn Unit 3.”
Write the title on the Bb.播放五星红旗的音乐,并和学生一起唱
 
Step 2-Presentation
1.      Show the pictures and Ss say:
“I’m going camping.”
“I’m going to the beach.”
The teacher will write them on the Bb.
2.      Ss repeat.(教授新知,学生感知新句型
3.      Ask several Ss: “What are you doing for vacation?”
After the Ss answer, the teacher adds:
“That sounds nice.” or “That sounds like a good idea.”(加上这些更贴近生活实际)
 
Step 3-Pairwork
 Ss work in pairs, practicing the drills.(讲练结合)
 
Step 4-Presentation
1.      Show the pictures and talk about “What’s he/she doing for vacation?” with Ss.(知识迁移,改换第三人称)
2.      Practice with Ss.
3.      Grammar.(让学生总结,因为这个形式学生见过,大部分学生能看出来)
 
Step 5-1b
1.      Say: “listen to the three conversations and number the picture.”
2.      Check the answers.
Steps 6-2a
1.      Say:“Three students Hector, Susan and Molly are talking about their vacation plans. Listen and finish 2a and 2b.”教学程序之间的自然过渡是很必要的
2.      Check the answers.
3.      Talk about the conversation with Ss. Using the following sentences:
What’s Hector doing for vacation?
When is the going? ect.充分挖掘教材资源,给学生多种练习的机会)
 
Step 7-Conversations
1.      Make conversations using they have learnt, practice with several students.
2.      Ask them to practice in pairs like this.(本节课的句型都已学完,给学生搭建一个平台,把所学知识激活,运用是最好的学习方法)
 
Step 8-Survery and report
1.      Let them ask their good friends about vacation plans and write them down.
2.      Give us a report.这一步是上一步的延伸,通过这一活动,学生既强化了所学知识,又明白了合作的重要性)
 
Step 9-Chicken soup of soul
 Show the pictures and tell Ss “Love our Diaoyu Island and our motherland .”(这一步主要是对学生进行情感、态度、价值观的影响和熏陶,结合时事,对学生进行热爱祖国大好河山和爱国主义教育。)
 
Step 10
 Write down the report.
课后反思:本节课是参加了济源市英语优质课大赛的一节课,从几次的磨课过程中,我受益匪浅。1.教师上课的激情至关重要。2.举行的操练必须是从集体到个别。3.充分利用和挖掘教材资源,采用灵活多变的活动和教法是学生得到训练。4.课堂的最后一步或第二步,应该给学生搭建平台对本节课所学内容进行综合性的形成性的评价。5.对学生进行情感态度价值观的培养必不可少,某种程度上来说,远远大于知识的传授。
